about me

As a passionate reader and news aficionado, I have developed my niche in the intersection between economics, political science, and technology, specifically using programming and machine learning to develop predictive models for economic and political concepts. I have always been intrigued by the art of communicating complex concepts through simple means in all facets of life, whether it be by learning to cook from recipes with my mom or becoming the 2022 national Public Forum Debate champion. It is communication, after all, that drives sustainability.

the take with krishna mano

Over the summer of 2021, I started brainstorming ways to help stop the spread of misinformation that targeted young adults who relied on social media as their source of news. While trying to find a solution for the spread of misinformation online, I started my talk show, The Take With Krishna Mano in which I discuss pressing issues in a simple, understandable, and entertaining way.

musical passions

Under the mentorship of Diane Duryee starting from 1st grade and Diane Helle since 2022, Krishna enjoys playing the violin as the associate concertmaster of St. Cecilia’s Philharmonic under Dan Scott and for local events including weddings and art exhibitions. When not attempting to perfect his 4th finger vibrato on the G string, you can find him dabbling around on the keys of his piano, strumming licks on the guitar, and composing pieces for duets, quartets, and orchestras. In his freshman year of high school, Krishna served as the concertmaster of St. Cecilia’s Concert Orchestra under Anne Thompson. He has had the honor to be a 4x MSBOA State Division I winner for his solo performances in Solo and Ensemble, as well as winning State Division I and II accolades for duet and quartet performances, respectively.

promoting interfaith

As a Kaufman Interfaith Leadership Scholar at Grand Valley State University’s Kaufman Interfaith Institute since I was in 6th Grade, I have had the opportunity to promote interfaith dialogue and intersectionality in my community, especially targeted towards youth. Through this, I had the opportunity to present and lead a workshop at the 2023 Parliament of the World’s Religions hosted in Chicago about dispelling the taboo of interfaith discussions in our world. In fact, the work I had done and lessons I had learned from the Scholars program inspired me to create the Global Citizens Association, a Michigan-wide, student-led organization focused on promoting knowledgeable interfaith dialogue between students by implementing a structured curriculum and inviting internationally-recognized religious leaders to speak directly to students at schools.
